Sean Manaea said the Mets “work their ass off every single day.”

Sure whatever you say, but at some point, results matter.

If this team is working its ass off, then why are we watching players not run out of the box? Why did this team fall apart after having one of the biggest collapses last season? Why are we sitting here on September 18th talking about another season without meanigful October Baseball?

Mets fans cheering for Pete Alonso wasn’t an attack of the players in that clubhouse. It was a reflection of what Alonso meant to this franchise, and what this organization lost when David Stearns let him walk.

Jared Young’s night ended in a terrifying way. In the sixth inning against the Phillies, Young collided with Nolam McLean while covering first base, with McLean’s knee striking young in the head and leaving him motionless of the field for several minutes.

Young was eventually taken off a stretcher and transported to a hospital, where a CT scan came back negative. He was still experiencing consussion symptoms but had full use of his extremities, and interim manager Andy Green said the Mets believe Young had “avoided the scariest outcomes.”
