For the first time in a long, Giants fans have a reason to feel good about football again.

The Giants finished with 364 total yards, including 165 rushing yards, while holding the Cowboys to just 244 total yards. Big Blue was in control of the clock for more than 36 minutes and converted 9-of-11 third downs.

That is exactly the type of football Giants fans were hoping to see when Harbaugh was hired.

Dart Looks Like the Real Deal

The biggest storyline coming out of Sunday night is obviously Jaxson Dart. The second-year quaterback completed 23 of 29 passes for 230 yards and three touchdowns, finishing with a 134.2 passer rating. He also added 54 rushing yards on 11 carries.

Dart didn’t look overwhelmed by the moment. Instead, he looked comfortable running the offense, making smart decisions and using his legs when Dallas gave him opportunities.

The Offense Finally Has Some Balance

Cam Skattebo carried the ball 18 times for 81 yards and a touchdown, while the Giants’ offensive line helped establish a physical running game throughout the night. That balance made the offense much harder for Dallas to defend.

Isaiah Likely was another major factor. The tight end caught eight passed for 78 yards and two touchdowns, becomeing Dart’s favorite target and giving the Giants another weapon in the middle of the field.

One thing the Giants have to clean up going foward is the penalties. New York was flagged 11 times for 100 yards, and while they still controlled the game, that kind of undisciplined play can cost you against better teams. The Giants showed they can win physically and control the football, but if John Harbaugh wants his team to take the next step, the unnescessary flags have to come down.
